Transforming an Old Deck into a Like-New Outdoor Space
At EastGate Construction, we believe every deck deserves to be the centerpiece of a backyard. Recently, we had the pleasure of restoring this weather-worn deck that had seen better days. The surface had peeling stain, discoloration, and signs of age—but with the right process, we brought it back to life.
Our Process
Inspection & Prep – We started by inspecting the boards for damage, tightening loose fasteners, and preparing the surface for cleaning.
Power Washing – Years of dirt, fading, and old stain were washed away, revealing the natural grain of the wood.
Sanding & Repairs – We smoothed out rough areas and replaced worn boards to create a safe, even surface.
Staining & Sealing – To protect against weather and UV rays, we applied a high-quality wood stain and sealer. The warm golden finish enhances the natural beauty of the wood and ensures long-lasting protection.
The Results
As you can see from the before-and-after photos, the transformation is stunning. The faded, worn deck is now refreshed, durable, and ready for many more years of backyard barbecues, family gatherings, and quiet evenings outdoors.
